Installing Oracle JDeveloper
Lets start with Downloading Oracle JDeveloper from OTN. Latest version of JDeveloper is 220.127.116.11 . This version of JDeveloper lets you create ADF – Mobile application as well and support for deploying to GlassFish server. .
Note: But if you require SOA and WebCenter, then 18.104.22.168 should be used.
Execute jdevstudio11123install.exe in your local machine and the below window pops up.
On clicking next , You are shown a window to choose your new middleware home. You can also use an existing Middleware home , if there you already have one. You can edit the directory in Middleware Home Directory. Click next after creating one.
This screen will let you choose between a custom installation and typical installation .
If you select the typical installation option the following screen will be shown
If you choose the custom installation , it will let you select the various options as shown below where you can select the option you feel necessary , based on your needs. Click next, on finishing.
I have selected complete installation. So it will install Jdeveloper along with Weblogic server inside my Middleware home , in separate directories.
In next screen , you can choose between giving access to Jdeveloper to all the users or specific users, since there are chance for multiple user accessing the same system.
Next screen gives you a summary of the installation details along with the amount of disk space that will be consumed.
Now the actual installation process starts. So wait and relax in the mean time.
Once the installation is completed , the following screen appears. You can select to start Jdeveloper immediately after the installation completes by click the Run QuickStart
There you go . . JDeveloper is installed and ready to use.
